Ricky Joe Redd
Ricky Joe is the owner of Redd’s Dugout (a premier training facility in North Dallas) and the founder of the TR Baseball Organization (Texas Redds). He is entering his 25th year of coaching select baseball in the DFW area. Ricky Joe played for Waxahachie High School and graduated from there in 1990. He was a 4-year starter on the varsity team in one of the top ranked baseball programs in the state of Texas. He won numerous honors both locally as well as state recognition during his high school days. He helped his team to four district championships and a state runner up to the powerhouse Brenham, Texas in 1988. During his high school years, Ricky played select ball for the Dallas Mustangs under Sam Carpenter and Pat Rigby and helped the Mustangs to a second place finish in 1989 and a championship in 1990 in the Connie Mack World Series. It was the first championship in the Mustangs history. Ricky then continued his play on the diamond and finished his education at Mississippi State University with a degree in teaching and coaching in 1995. After red shirting his freshman year, he went on to be a 4-year starter for the Bulldogs batting clean-up and playing outfield for the Diamond Dawgs. While at MSU, he received numerous awards and is still in the top 20 of all time of most offensive categories. Ricky Joe was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 1993 but opted out to finish his college education. Ricky is married to his wife, Nisa and they have three Children-Tyler is an EMT in Memphis, Addyson is a collegiate softball player in Oklahoma and Cayden is the junior class vice president at Waxahachie High School.
